The leisure industry is a life-oriented industry, and the demand for both the quality and quantity of its personnel is urgent. Therefore, the primary objective of establishing this department is to correspond with the development trends of the leisure industry, focusing on environmental planning and design, leisure activity service planning, and community development as its main axes. The fundamental educational mission is to cultivate outstanding professionals for the leisure industry in planning, development, maintenance, and management. The teaching characteristics of this department emphasize a complete training process of “professional knowledge learning → on-site analysis → planning → design → practical operation,” enabling students of the department to solidly acquire a wide range of abilities. In addition, while continuously enriching faculty and facilities, the department also responds to the needs of the social environment and continually reviews and improves its programs. By integrating practical implementation within local rural communities, it is expected to combine theoretical foundations with practical operations, cultivating planning and management professionals for the leisure and recreation industry who possess both international perspectives and local characteristics.
